HVAC salespeople: How are you different?

Differentiate yourself — not just the company or products. As a salesperson, you’re selling yourself just as much as you are the products. Learn how to let your personality shine in any sale and maintain those customer relationships for years to come.

Here are a few ways to help make you memorable as a salesperson for all the right reasons:

Keep tabs of important dates for customers

  • Birthdays: Acknowledging your customers’ birthdays is a small token of appreciation that goes a long way. Sending out a simple “Happy Birthday” postcard with a free service or list of current promotions is a small way of saying “thank you.”
  • Anniversaries: Reward your customers for their long-standing dedication to your business by letting them know you still remember who they are. Keep in touch with your customer every year to keep them current on the age of their unit, recent service, or your current promotions for product upgrades. The more you keep in touch with your customer, the more they will keep in touch with you.
  • Maintain a genuine attitude: Attitude is everything. Make sure when you approach a customer on a service call that you treat them like a customer and not just another sale or dollar sign. Be compassionate, genuine and remember, the better the customer experience, the more likely they are to keep their HVAC equipment maintenance plan with you and your company.

What makes you a different salesperson from your competitors?
